Biking by the shores of Lake Sevan, old monasteries, ancient pagan temples, the Caucasus mountains and its valleys and rivers, and picturesque towns, you will enjoy exploring Armenia, one of the cradles of world civilization, in a more active manner!

From May through October

Day 0

Arrival in Tbilisi (or Yerevan)

Day 1

Meeting at Tbilisi (or Yerevan) airport, transfer to Tsakhkadzor, rest at the hotel.

After breakfast we will have a quick bike ride around the town that is located in a beautiful valley right at the eastern foot of Mount Tegkheni (1845m above sea level). The other name of this town is "The Valley of Flowers" and is an amazing and interesting place to visit in any season.

We will then have dinner and stay overnight there.

We will cover about 20-25 km today by bikes.

Day 2

Breakfast at the hotel.

After breakfast we will bike to Bzhni and Agveran. Agveran is situated in a beautiful location and is famous all over the country for its mild climate. Bzhin is located on the right bank of the Razdan River and is particularly famous for the ruins of a fortress built in 9-10 century.

Dinner and overnight stay in Tsakhkadzor.

We will cover about 55-60 km today by bikes.Elevation difference is 1750-1500-1750 m.

Day 3

Breakfast at the hotel.

Today we will bike towards Dilizhan, a resort town. They say that if there were woods, mountains and mineral springs in paradise then paradise would look like Dilizhan. We will visit Sevanavank monastery that used to be located on an island but now on a peninsula. Here we will get chance to see a unique style of architecture that is called "khachkara" and is basically a stone stele with crosses carved on it.

Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel near Sevan Lake.

We will cover about 40 km today by bikes. Ascent200-550m.

Day 4

Breakfast at the hotel.

Today we will travel towards Noraduz where there are old graves with remarkable kachkaras (13-17 century). We will bike right along Sevan shores enjoying its lovely scenery.

Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Matuni.

We will cover about 72 km today by bikes.Ascent 200-550 m.

Day 5

Breakfast at the hotel.

After breakfast we will go to Selim caravansaray, one of the most important trade centres on the Great Silk Route. It was built in 1332 at the order of Prince Caesar Orbeliani. Selim caravansaray is a great example of Armenian medieval house architecture.

Then we will travel to Khermon. Dinner and overnight stay in Khermon.

We will cover about 62 km today by bikes.Ascent 200-500 m.

Day 6

Breakfast at the hotel .

Today we will bike to Noravan monastery ("New monastery"). It is one of the most outstanding architectural sights of medieval Armenia and it was built in amazing harmony with the surrounding landscape. The monastery is located on a cliff of the narrow and winding gorge of the Arpa River. In 13-14 centuries the monastery was the residency of bishop Syunik.

After that we will visit the local winery in Areni.

We will cover about 56 km today by bikes.Ascent 150-250 m.

Day 7

Breakfast at the hotel .

Today we will go to Khor Virap, a monastery that draws people from all over the country. From there you can admire an amazing view of Mount Ararat. The legend tell us that there used to be a prison where St Gregory was kept for 13 years because of his Christian faith. Then we will proceed to Garni. Dinner and overnight stay at private houses in Garni.

We will cover about 50 km today by bikes.Ascent 150-250 m.

Day 8


In Garni we will visit a pagan temple . It is the only remaining temple from the era of paganism and Hellenism in the territory of Armenia. It was built in the first half of the first century A.D. by the Armenian king Trdat I and was dedicated to the god of the Sun. After that we will bike to the Gegarda cave monasteries that were built in 13th century.

Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Yerevan.

We will cover about 55-60 km today by bikes.Ascent 200-250 m.

Day 9

Breakfast at the hotel.

Today we will stay in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. We will visit the memorial park called Tsitsernakaberd. It is a museum remembering the victims of the Armenian Genocide. In the afternoon we will visit the Erebuni fortress and a factory that produces Armenian brandy.

Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Yerevan.

Day 10

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Tbilisi airport (it is also possible to fly from Yerevan).
