Visit the 13th century fortress Ananuri! See the pictureasque reservoir of Zhinvali and drive through the mountain resort Gudauri (2200 meters above sea level). Drive to Stepantsminda in a 4x4 drive vehicle, and at the top of the mountain you will visit the Church of the Holy Trinity Gergeti! From here you will also enjoy the view of Mount Kazbek - the third highest mountain in Georgia.
For your convenience - we'll start the tour by picking you up at your hotel in Tbilisi.
Along the way to the Caucasus Mountains, you will see the 13th century fortress Ananuri, with stunning views over the picturesque reservoir of Zhinvali, which is a generous gift to fans of photography.
Rising to a height of 2200 meters, you will find yourself in the winter ski resort Gudauri! In the summer, this popular winter resort pleases every eye with a view of majestic, verdant mountain slopes.
Stepantsminda is one of the historical provinces of Georgia, through which an Old Georgian military road passes! View the majestical, tall standing Mount Kazbek (5033 m), the third highest peak of the Great Caucasus Mountain range!
Most of the day will be spent in the high mountains of the Caucasus, using the 4x4 drive vehicle. You will also have an opportunity to go to see the famous church of the Holy Trinity Gergeti (14th century). The church is located at an altitude of 1800 meters above sea level, and offers a breathtaking view over the valley and the picturesque mountain range of the Caucasus. Currently, there is an active monastery operative here.
In the afternoon you will leisurely return to Tbilisi.
Comment: The tour is available from May 1 to December 1. We suggest you wear comfortable, suitable clothing and shoes for walking. (It is usually cooler in the mountains, so come prepared.) We also organize tours for groups over 6 people.
